Onshore Petroleum Centre of Excellence

OPCE Facility

The OPCE has various plant equipment that can simulate upstream  oil and gas processing to maximise learning opportunities. The OPCE is able to do this by using water to simulate oil and air to simulate gas- therefore providing a safe environment for training.
The OPCE currently has the following equipment installed to conduct a basic flow:
  • Gas Wellhead
  • Reciprocating Compressors
  • Gas Metering Skids
  • Pig Launcher and Receiver
  • Oil Wellhead
  • Beam Pump
  • Two-phase Separator
  • Liquids storage tank
  • Various Valves
  • Various Pumps
  • Various Instrumentation
To accompany the live plant the OPCE also contains static equipment displays for demonstration and educational purposes. These include various Valves, Pumps, Engines and a Nodle Compressor.
